Simo Antonić – The Forgotten World Champion

A short-form storytelling reel dedicated to Simo Antonić, a giant from Hreša near Sarajevo who became a world wrestling champion at the beginning of the 20th century. Standing over two meters tall and weighing 137 kilograms, Antonić defeated the reigning champion and earned international recognition, with newspapers across Vienna and France reporting on his achievements.

The reel was created to bring a forgotten historical figure back into public memory through engaging social media storytelling. Combining archival research, historical facts, visual presentation and narrative editing, the content transforms local history into a format accessible to modern audiences.

Designed for Instagram and Facebook, the project demonstrates how cultural heritage and historical stories can be preserved and promoted through short-form digital content.
